Anthony is an incredible leader. Upon graduation from the International Training Institute (ITI), he felt a burden to share what he learned with other African leaders. Together with other ITI grads, he traveled to the DRC (Congo) to begin training with 56 pastors and leaders. During the training, rebels attacked the area where the school was held. For three days, the team was under siege--sometimes hiding under their beds for six hours at a time as gunfire continued. Finally they were rescued.
Despite objections from family and friends, Anthony and the team returned to Congo. He said, “This was in our hearts. Those are our brothers in Congo, and even if we die taking Christ to them, it will be gain to us.”
This past July, sixty-three leaders graduated from the ITI in Congo, a training totally organized, led, and taught by Africans for Africans! The multiplication continues.
Anthony relates, “Many (Congo) pastors are using the training material and translating it to their local languages in order to train other church leaders."
Anthony has taught the
ITI in Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Congo, Egypt, and soon to be in Zambia. For us at Network Beyond, it is a dream come true, a prayer answered, and reason for joy.
